Stand Up

Maj. Sahar Ahmad, an Afghan student pilot, concentrates on flying in the A-29 Super Tucano flight simulator. Students work with their U.S. Air Force instructors to build familiarity and proficiency in the simulator before flying the A-29. The A-29 is a two-seat aircraft, allowing students to fly with their American instructor pilots. The pilots, who sit in the back seat, can take control of the aircraft at any time, but the students are expected to fly the aircraft through the entire mission. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt.
