Serving, Saving, Shaping

The other half of Civil Air Patrols cutting-edge approach to search and rescue is the National Radar Analysis Team. These experts detect, project and map the radar tracks that aircraft take while en route to destinations they fail to reach, requiring the teams expertise. The team produced this image showing the path a Cessna 172 took before going down off the coast of South Bimini in the Bahamas in December. The U.S. Coast Guard rescued the planes pilot after the CAP team helped narrow the search area down. Photo // Civil Air Patrol
