F-22 Raptors

F-22 Raptors take off from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, during an Initial Operational Capability (IOC) certification Nov. 8. The 199th Fighter Squadron of the Hawaii Air National Guard has F-22s based at Hickam which are on constant alert status to perform air interdiction missions in conjunction with the 169th Air Defense Squadron, which monitors the airspace around the Hawaiian Islands from their facility at Wheeler Army Airfield on Oahu.
